Mini Excavator FAQ

Shipping is free on every order, with no minimum spend and no threshold to reach – on attachments and on machines alike. There is no freight surcharge, no liftgate charge and no fuel surcharge.

We dispatch within 1 – 2 business days and transit takes a further 3 – 6 business days, so most orders arrive 4 – 8 business days after you place them. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding US public holidays.

On a flatbed or drop-deck trailer, curbside, by appointment. The carrier calls you first to book a delivery window and delivers to the curb or the end of your driveway. The machine is tracked down the trailer ramps under its own power by you or an operator you appoint – a liftgate is rated for a pallet, not for a 2,205 to 7,716 lb machine, so no liftgate is used. Carriers do not let their drivers operate customer machinery. If you would rather not unload it yourself, tell us before you order and we will arrange a rigger and quote it separately.

Someone over 18 at the address to sign, firm level ground the truck can reach, roughly 60 ft of clear space, and – for a machine – someone able to track it down the ramps. Inspect before you sign: note any damage on the delivery paperwork and photograph it, then email us the same day.

It depends on weight, because parcel carriers have hard limits. Up to 70 lb (the frost ripper and wear parts) goes USPS Ground Advantage. Up to 150 lb (the digging bucket and the quick coupler) goes UPS or FedEx Ground. Over 150 lb – the hydraulic thumb, the auger drive and every machine – moves on a freight carrier. Everything is tracked and you get the tracking number or freight pro number by email as soon as the shipment is booked.

No, Nestiques ships within the United States only. Attachments and parts go to all 50 states; machines go to the 48 contiguous states only, because free ocean freight to Alaska or Hawaii inside our stated delivery window is not a promise we could keep. Only items under 70 lb that travel with USPS can go to a PO box.

Use the form on our Track Your Order page with your order number and the email address you used at checkout, or open Orders in My Account. The dispatch email also carries the tracking or freight pro number.

You have 30 days from delivery to return any unused item in its original condition and packaging. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 business days of us receiving and inspecting the return.

You cover the return shipping or return freight for a change-of-mind return. Return freight on a machine runs roughly $800 to $2,000 depending on distance, and we quote you the exact figure before you commit. If an item arrives defective, damaged or is not what you ordered, we pay the return freight and there is never a restocking fee.

No. A machine that has been fueled and run is no longer unused, so it falls outside the 30-day change-of-mind window. Faults are a separate matter and are covered under the warranty section of our refund policy, whether the machine has run or not.

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay, all processed by Stripe. We do not accept checks, wire transfers, cash on delivery or PayPal, and we do not offer financing.

Card details are entered on Stripe’s PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment fields and never reach our servers. The whole site runs over HTTPS.

The full amount is authorised and captured when you place the order. If we cannot fulfil an order we refund it in full to the same card.

Match the machine to your narrowest access point first, then to your dig depth. A 1.0 ton machine with a retractable undercarriage passes a 30 in. gate and digs about 5 ft 9 in.; 1.7 and 2.5 ton machines suit general landscaping and utility work at 7 ft 6 in. and 8 ft 8 in.; the 3.5 ton machine digs 11 ft 2 in. and is the one for footings and deep drainage.

No operator license is required on private property in most states for your own non-commercial use, but check your state and local rules – and note that if you use the machine commercially, OSHA requires you to train your operators and keep a record of it. For towing, do not go by the tow rating alone: add the machine weight to the trailer weight and check it against your vehicle’s GCWR, payload and tongue-weight ratings, all three of which usually run out before the tow rating does. Operating weights and shipping dimensions are on every machine page so you can do that arithmetic before you buy.

Check four numbers on the attachment listing against your machine: the machine weight range, the pin diameter, the width between the mounting ears, and – for a hydraulic attachment – the auxiliary flow in gpm. Every attachment we sell ships with a pin and bush kit covering 40 – 50 mm pins and 150 – 200 mm ears, which is every excavator in our own range, so the bucket, thumb, ripper and coupler fit all five of our machines. The auger drive is the exception: it needs 8 – 16 gpm, so it runs on the MX-25 and MX-35 only. Email us your machine’s numbers and we will confirm before you order.

Yes. The hydraulic thumb and the auger drive ship with hoses and steel fittings. They need an auxiliary hydraulic circuit, which all five of our excavators have as standard – but check the flow: the thumb needs 5 – 14 gpm and works on every one of our machines, while the auger needs 8 – 16 gpm and will only turn on the MX-25 (9.5 gpm) and the MX-35 (13.2 gpm).

It matches the 1.0 ton diesel machine on breakout force and dig depth. The difference is endurance and refuelling: the 8.5 kWh pack covers roughly 4 – 6 hours of mixed work and a full charge takes about 6 hours from a 240 V, 20 A supply on a NEMA 6-20 outlet (a 14-50 adapter is supplied; a 120 V household socket will not charge it). It is the right machine for indoor, basement and noise-restricted work, not for a full day of continuous digging away from power.

Yes – by the manufacturer’s written warranty supplied with the item. We deliberately do not publish a period on this site, because it is set by the manufacturer of each machine and attachment and we will not state a term we cannot stand behind. Ask us before you order and we will send you the exact terms – period, what is covered, what is not – in writing. Claims go through us at info@nestiques.com; there is no dealer network. Normal wear – a blunted bucket tooth, a worn ripper point, a rubber track worn on hardcore – is not a fault.
