A quick coupler is the attachment that makes the other attachments worth owning. Without one, swapping a bucket for a ripper means knocking out two pins with a drift and a hammer and finding somewhere to put them; with one, it is a lever, a safety pin and under a minute.
This is a manual pin-grabber, which is deliberate. A hydraulic coupler needs a second auxiliary circuit and adds a failure mode; a manual pin-grabber has one moving part, a hardened wedge on a threaded adjuster, and it can be taken up as it wears so the attachment never develops slop. The safety pin is captive on a short chain, and the front jaw is open-throat so it picks up a range of pin spacings rather than one exact size.

Looking after it: always fit the safety pin before you use an attachment, and take up the wedge adjuster as soon as you can feel movement between the coupler and the attachment – slop is what wears the jaw. Grease the pin bosses with the machine.
