The MX-17 is the general-purpose size: big enough to dig a proper drainage run or a set of strip footings, small enough to work in a back garden. Operating weight is 3,748 lb and the fixed track frame is 51 in. wide, which buys stability over the narrower 1.0 ton machine at the cost of the retractable access.
It digs 7 ft 6 in. deep with 14 ft 9 in. of reach at ground level, driven by a 15.9 hp three-cylinder diesel. The boom offsets for digging alongside a wall or a fence line, the dozer blade backfills and grades, and the auxiliary hydraulic circuit is plumbed to the end of the arm as standard. The operator station is an open canopy with a roll bar, two pilot joysticks and a suspension seat.

Attachment fitment
Its pin is 1.77 in. (45 mm) and the ears are 7.1 in. (180 mm) apart, which is the middle of the range every attachment in our Excavator Attachments collection is built for – the bucket, thumb, ripper and quick coupler all pin straight on. The 12 in. auger drive needs 8 – 16 gpm and this machine has 6.6 gpm, so it will not turn it.

The warranty that applies is the manufacturer’s written warranty supplied with the machine. Ask us before you order and we will send you the exact terms – period, what is covered and what is not – in writing. Emissions and California
Ask us for the engine’s EPA emissions family number and its CARB status before you order if the machine is going to California, and we will send it to you in writing. WARNING: diesel engine exhaust and some of its constituents are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm. Looking after it: grease the boom, arm and bucket pins daily, check engine oil and coolant before the first start of the day, and blow the radiator core out at the end of any dusty job.
This machine ships free to any address in the 48 contiguous states on a freight carrier: a flatbed or drop-deck truck, unloaded down ramps at the curbside with you or your driver present. Dispatch takes 1 – 2 business days and transit a further 3 – 6. Unused machines can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
