A single-shank ripper for mini excavators between 1 and 3.5 tons. It is the cheapest way to make hard ground diggable: frozen topsoil in winter, sun-baked clay in summer, compacted hardcore, old asphalt and root-bound ground that a bucket simply skates across.
The shank is a single curved plate rather than a fabricated box, so there is no weld seam in the highest-stress area, and the curve is deliberately shallow – a deep hook digs in and stalls a light machine. The point is a separate hardened wedge held by a retaining pin, so you replace a point instead of the whole attachment when it wears back. Pin bosses are bushed and greasable.

Looking after it: rip in parallel passes and let the machine do the work with the arm, not by driving the tracks forward. Replace the point once it has worn back to the shank shoulder. Grease the pin bosses whenever you grease the machine.
